The No. 23 ranked Georgia men's tennis team defeated the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts in Athens. Robert Loeb clinched the shutout for the Bulldogs by defeating Andrew Li of the Yellow Jackets.

The University of Georgia men's basketball team lost against South Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. This is the sixth SEC loss in a row for the Bulldogs with their overall record being 10-11, 1-7. Georgia plays Alabama away on Wednesday, Feb. 6.

This semester, the Spring Career Fair is on Wednesday, Jan. 30. from noon-5 p.m. There, attendees can talk to potential employers and make a good first impression for the future. The block of Athens containing The Varsity could get a makeover if a proposed plan is approved by the Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission in February. The plan, which was approved by the ACC Planning Commission in December, opens the area bordered by Milledge Avenue, Broad Street, Chase Street and Reese Street to zoning changes.
